If I ever thought I could Get away with it, you know I would Cos I'm easily mislead. Should be using, not receiving, head. But after all is said and done Where's the risk without the fun? And I know what's on your mind It's the same game I've been playing Pick me up I'll put you down again That's what happens to the "special friends" It's not over...its not over...it's not over... If I ever thought I should Take you down with me You know I would But a lot's been said since then Didn't know if you'd been listening This is where it's got to end There's no point in a beginning Call my bluff and hope to die You're the one who's left crying
2.
Is it true? You'd like me to see you? The way I've always wanted to? And if you do... I'll do the things to you You know you've always wanted to And as the sun sets I would know You've booked a suite inside my soul Throw away the key There'll never be a need for anyone in there but you and me You know it's true I said I feel you do
3.
I'd love to fill your cup Drink a toast to my bad luck I feel I've been stitched up By the one's I'd come to trust Don't you, want me to... Take another stand And fight all night with you? You don't care what you've done Or what I'm going to do If I only knew... You thank me for my songs I hope the cheque won't be too long I feel I've been abused I've got things I need to do
4.
I saw it and I had to have it Just another dirty habit Rack em out and I will dab it I saw it and I had to have it She put her hand in my pocket Felt around for the packet Palmed it and her fingers grabbed it She saw it and she had to have it Don't even try to ask me why I'll tell you a lie We pushed our way into the party Up the stairs, double crafty Lock the door and check it's empty Lay it out there to tempt me
5.
Take the pill Sure you will Bleeding hearted liberal He's not impressed by the state of the nation The drunks on the streets have moved into his station This is never going to work On and on... Here they are Come so far Working hard Stealing cars I'm not impressed by the state of the nation Think I'm in need of another vacation What's the point in going to work? On and on...
6.
I don't know why you never call I don't know why you won't come round at all I don't know why you let me go And dig myself an even deeper hole I don't know why I couldn't see How disappointed you'd become in me We had it all, but as you say I went and threw it all away I don't know why I keep this song It brings me pain when I sing along And all the time I blame the day You made your mind up and you went away I don't know why I couldn't see How disappointed you'd become in me I don't why you never call I don't know why I'm here at all
7.
I didn't want to end up this way You couldn't think of a thing to say Another drink won't make it right It's your fault, you were out of line Ya little liar You keep em coming, I know you will Another victim will pay the bill I'll take a cheque if it's all you've got You cleaned me out girl, you got the lot Ya little liar I'm not trying to get at you I know you're sick, and you know it too It's just a shame, I'm trying to say That you had to end up this way You play upon my sympathy I've got it bad and it's plain to see Another girl needs my company And that is my new philosophy!
8.
I don't know what you're doing here But I know who you are I don't know what you're doing here But I know who you are I said, I know who you are If you think I'll make a sound When you think I'll hit the ground C'mon! Oooh yeah...oooh yeah Let's see how good you are I've never met a bigger man Who talks as much as you Keep it up, sonny boy Let's see what you can do Let's see what you can do If you think I'll make a sound When you think I'll hit the ground C'mon! Oooh yeah...oooh yeah Let's see how good you are

I was a firecracker When I was younger, uh huh I blew up on cue I lost a friend or two It's been so long since I've been back home It's been so long since I've been back... Home...don't get me wrong I've been alive since the day I was born It don't mean nothing can get me out of this place It don't mean nothing can get me out of this... I met a girl I called Jo Yeah she was trouble for sure High on self esteem and personality It's been so long since I've been back home It's been so long since I've been back... Home...don't get me wrong I've been alive since the day I was born It don't mean nothing can get me out of this place It don't mean nothing can get me out of this...

The warden lead the prisoner down the hallway to his doom I stood up to say goodbye like all the rest And I heard him, tell the Warden, just before he reached my cell Let my guitar playing friend do my request Let him sing me back home With a song I used to hear Make my old memories come alive Take me away, and turn back the years Sing me back home, before I die I recall, last Sunday morning, a choir from cross the street Came to sing a few old gospel songs And I heard him tell the singers There's a song my Mama sang Won't you sing it once before I move along Won't you sing me back home With a song I used to hear Make my old memories come alive Take me away, and turn back the years Sing me back home, before I die

I fall on my feet Most every day It's the getting back up That leaves me this way Just don't try to tame me baby It never works anyway But if I pack my bags...will you stay? I'm not the full deck I'm a bit of a shoe-in But if you show me your cards I'll pay you what I'm owing Don't try to tame me baby It never works anyway But if I pack my bags...will you stay? Where did you run to baby? Why'd you treat me this way? Where did you run to baby? Why'd you lead me astray? Where did you run to baby? Why'd you leave me this way? If you don't even want me to stay? So listen to me Cos I can't hear what you're saying But you'd better believe There's an art to complaining Don't try to tame me baby It's never worked to this day But if I pack my bags...will you stay?

Cinderella 03:15
Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey everybody I'm out looking for a girl She's the sharpest one In the whole wide world I want to be her man Lord, I'll catch her if I can I met her at the bar You know, we danced all night When I kissed her lips She even held me tight Disappeared by herself When my clock struck 12 Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Cinderella Where have you gone I got a glass slipper For you to try on I want to be your fellow Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Cinderella She's got a pretty long hair And she's five-foot-two When she ran away I found her glass shoe Won't somebody tell me What I am gonna do Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Cinderella Cinderella

about

As some (or none) of you may know, this is my debut album. It's taken while to get here.

I spent much of my (mis-spent) youth playing in various bands, nearly and not quite getting famous. During those years I hoarded songs I'd written that the majority of the singers in those bands refused to sing.

One day....one day...

This labour of love has been nearly 20 years in the making. Some of these songs were written when I was barely out of school, others were written a couple of months ago. I doubt you'd notice which were which. Suffice to say, this is that album. Make of it what you will.
