about

This was a bit of a last minute addition to the album. Me and Rod were messing about in the studio and I wanted to try recording drums with one microphone. I'd written this little ditty a couple of weeks before, so we set up the mic and jammed it live...once. It's probably the first and last time my somewhat rudimentary drumming skills will end up on anything. We added the rest of the instruments that night and it sounded so good I decided to put it on the album. Sometimes it just works like that :)

lyrics

I fall on my feet
Most every day
It's the getting back up
That leaves me this way

Just don't try to tame me baby
It never works anyway
But if I pack my bags...will you stay?

I'm not the full deck
I'm a bit of a shoe-in
But if you show me your cards
I'll pay you what I'm owing

Don't try to tame me baby
It never works anyway
But if I pack my bags...will you stay?

Where did you run to baby?
Why'd you treat me this way?
Where did you run to baby?
Why'd you lead me astray?

Where did you run to baby?
Why'd you leave me this way?
If you don't even want me to stay?

So listen to me
Cos I can't hear what you're saying
But you'd better believe
There's an art to complaining

Don't try to tame me baby
It's never worked to this day
But if I pack my bags...will you stay?
